Article 22(4) states that no law providing for preventive detention shall authorize the detention of a person for a longer period than three months unless an Advisory Board consisting of persons who are judges of a High Court has reported before the expiration of the said period that there is sufficient cause for such detention. Note: Though the 44th Amendment reduced this to 2 months, that provision has not been officially brought into force yet.
